Monteverdi’s Vespro Della Beata Vergine

The Mary Vespers (1610) by Italian renaissance/early baroque composer Claudio Monteverdi,
is a particularly enchanting an marvellous version of the traditional vesper
singing form, which concludes with an appraisal of the Virgin Mary.
The concert will be repeated in the magnificent churches – the German Church in Stockholm
and Frederiksborg Castle Church CopenhagenApril 4 & 5.

Performers: Schola Cantorum with solists from the choir, the music group ScandinavianCornetts and Sackbuts led by Danish cornet-player Lene Langballe, and members from the International Baroque Orchestra of Hallgrímskirkja, led by violinist Tuomo Suni.
The vocal group Cantores Islandiae will also appear.
Conductor is Hörður Áskelsson.
