Tickets are available on www.tix.is and at Hallgrímskirkja church store. The audience will be invited to a musical journey, more than 400 years of musical-history, from Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber (1644), J.S. Bach, E. Grieg, and some of the leading composers of the 20th and 21st centuries such as Þorkell Sigurbjörnsson, Duke Ellington, Hjörleifur Valsson, Ennio Morricone, Jónas Þórir, and Vangelis, as well as icelandic folk music, chants and hymns.

Few words about the musicians: Icelandic violinist Hjörleifur Valsson is born in northern Iceland, raised in Ísafjörður, where he enjoyed the unique and musical environment and studies at the Ísafjörður Music School. He completed his studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, and later in the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Germany. Hjörleifur has composed, arranged and performed music for theater, films and television. He is a versatile musidian and performs regularly in many european countries, both as a soloist as well as music-collaborator and chamber-musician.

Jónas Þórir is a cantor at Bústaðakirkja, Reykjavík. He started playing the violin at a young age but then finished his studies in organ and piano in Iceland before moving to Norway for postgraduate studies. He has been very active on the Icelandic music scene for many decades and has performed with all the main musicians in the country, worked extensively for theater, television and films. In recent years, Hjörleifur and Jónas have held concerts all over the country with a varied repertoire.
