Willibald Guggenmos studied at the Conservatory at Augsburg, Germany and the Hochschule für Musik in Munich, where he earned a total of three master degrees, Piano, Conducting and Organ.
In January 2004, Willibald Guggenmos received an appointment as organist at St. Gallen-Cathedral (Switzerland). Before that he was for 17 years the organist at St. Martin’s Church at Wangen/Allgäu, Germany and for three years organist at Munich-Cathedral. His career as a concert organist has taken him to almost all corners of the world: almost every country in Europe, the Americas, the Far East, Australia and New Zealand, to the organs of great cathedrals and concert halls. His enormous repertoire includes the complete works of many of the great ones
including Bach, Franck, Liszt, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Duruflé and the great works of Dupré and Messiaen. Highlights of his CD-recordings took place at the largest organ in Switzerland in Engelberg, the famous Cavaille-Coll Organ at Azcoitia (Spain) and the legendary famous “Hill-Organ” at Sydney Town-Hall (Australia).
